Seaweed Muse 160503

Impatient footsteps brought me

To where I waded knee-deep

And scooped green filigree strands

From the duller green wetness

They drooped sadly at my touch

With the forlornness of lost magic

Were they once bright and alive

In the mane of a mermaid horse?

Elusive inspiration

So like a leafy seadragon

Inhabiting lush gardens

of pretty marine foliage

I had to smile.

Glints on the waves drew my eyes

Across the bay waves

To a cruising coast guard vessel.
