Vacancy's Open (II) 240104
I have a vacancy open-
Would be nice to see a line…
But keeping order's such a bother
And the trouble will be all mine.
I have a vacancy open-
To find me a suitable man
One steady and reliable
Yet managing not to be bland.
I have a vacancy open-
For a man who'll make me smile
Through all the good and bad times
By going the extra mile.
I have a vacancy open-
For a man who'll show me the way;
Who'll lead me through life by example
Trusting the Lord everyday.
I have a vacancy open-
Mathematicians need not apply…
Artists, writers and of course
Musicians are welcome to try.
I have a vacancy open-
Not just anyone may apply…
My screening test's rather stringent;
So far there's no real reply.
I have a vacancy open-
Perhaps it shouldn't be?
I should learn to just trust Jesus,
And be footloose, fancy-free.
So I had a vacancy open-
Till God valiantly dosed
Me with a measure of wisdom:
Now that vacancy's closed.
(There's still a vacancy open-
Only Christian men may apply:
Route all enquiries to heaven-
'cos now He oversees the supply.)
