"Sady, are you ready yet?" yelled the young girl's older sister, Adriana.
Sady replied, "Ready for what?"
"Duh, mom and dad's party."
"First of all I am not going and second of all he is not my dad!" screamed Sady.
"Fine but mom isn't going to be happy about that." replied Adriana.
My name is Sady and I am fifteen years old. This is pretty much my pathetic life story. You see my dad died when I was about five and now, after ten years, my mom is going to get remarried. It wouldn't be all that bad if she was marrying a different man! Frank, my mom's stupid fiancé, had also divorced his wife after only about six or seven years of their marriage. Meaning that he also has a kid. Actually he has four and they are all older than I am. They are nice to my older sister but they all boss me around and quite frankly I am afraid of them, so I am forced to do as they say. If I ever rebel, (and trust me I have before), their father is always on their side because he is a loser and his daughters are little liars.
Today is my mom and Frank's anniversary party combined with their pre- wedding party because they have been dating for a whole year and have been engaged for about a month. Frank is actually a really rich man so I guess that once they get married, (which is a week from today), we are all moving into this huge mansion. That is the only good part about this whole thing.
"SADY!" yelled my mom from across the hall, "What is this I hear about you not attending the second most important day of your dear mother's life?"
"I am not going to this stupid party for your wedding, or anniversary, or whatever it is that this stupid party is for!" I answered.
Shocked at my rebellious attitude my mother entered my room. You see I have never been the kind of child that ever disagreed with my mother, that was always my sister's job.
"Sady, what's wrong? I thought that you liked me dating Frank?" my mother said with a hurt tone in her voice.
"Mom," I said calmly, "I love that you love Frank but I just wish that you weren't marrying him."
"Well, what do you want me to do? Just go back to being a miserable old widow and pretend like I don't love Frank?"
"Well, no, I just wish that he didn't have such bratty kids," I replied.
"Honey, I know that it has always been just you and your sister but some changes are happening and they are happening for the better. Maybe his children feel the exact way that you do. I am sure that once we all move in together things will lighten up a bunch!" my mother said happily.
"Fine, I'll go to the party and I'll try to be nicer to them." I angrily agreed.
"Okay that's great! Now go and put your dress on and get ready to have the time of your life! This party is going to be the bomb!"
I hate it when my mother does that to me. She has this way of convincing me to give in to her. I guess that I'll have to attend the party but trust me, she hasn't won yet. I'll show her what brats his children are!
