Hi!  Normally, I don't put stuff at the top, but this series of short fictions needs some explanation.  Last year, my English teacher didn't let us do ANY creative writing.  I was stifled, and I can't say anything for anyone else because I'm not them!  ^_^ But any, back to the topic at hand.  She's taking a sabbatical this year, and the new teacher decided (after having a creative essay turn into a humungo story escapade by a certain class…) that having a creative writing thing would be a good idea… for the whole high school.  So, each month we have an assignment that she assigns at the beginning of the month, and we have about three weeks to write whatever it is.  November was poetry, and since I am really satisfied with the way they came out, I'm letting everyone read them.  This conglomeration may get pretty long, and I may split them up by month into separate stories.  So for now, enjoy the first fruits of my efforts!

POEMS ARC: 1: PEACE

Peace

The opposite of war?

The result of it?

Peace

Quiet solitude?

Inner serenity?

Peace

Like a fog, so easy to see from a far,

So hard to grasp close at hand.

Peace

The moment after birth?

The instant before death?

Peace

Concrete reality?

Abstract possibility?

Peace

A concept to be pondered,

A goal to be reached for.

Peace

What is it?
