Paint My Love

I want to paint my love
With all the colors of the rainbow
A splash of black smeared with white
Vibrant colors and colors that make me feel low

I want to paint my love
Rosy red like the beautifully divine sunset
Endlessly sky blue with a dash of clouds
Violet like the twilight sky in debt

I want to paint my love
Sunshine yellow of the smiling daffodils
Baby pink like the scented roses
Delicately built like carnations on my windowsill

I want to paint my love
With the blue-greens of the dancing peacock
The right feathery texture of the dove
Talking parrot with an electric green shock

I want to paint my love
Glittering golden in the summer sun
Streaked with silver from the moonlight
Topped off with a bronze glow, I'm not yet done

I want to paint my love
Pearly white like the oysters' gift
Blood red like this luscious ruby
Sparkling blue sapphires in my new shift

I want to paint my love
An image of these musical notes
Pictures of what I imagine this song to be
The sound of the waves, the sailing boat

I want to paint my love
I want to paint it in the dawning sky
I want the world to see what I see in you
I want to smile and tears of joy then cry

I have painted my love
Your face on this now colorful canvas
You are my love, my image, my dream
My painting, what more can I ask for than this?
