This poem was inspired by the old Christmas tune Do you Hear What I Hear.

Do you hear what I hear?

The footsteps coming near,

And the whispers of the ocean's breeze

And the rustling of leafless trees.

Do you hear what I hear?

Do you smell what I smell?

Where it comes from I cannot tell.

The saltiness from the ocean's breeze

Hits my nose with uneasy ease.

Do you smell what I smell?

Do you feel what I feel?

Shadow's embrace,

The caress and texture of your face,

Written words of someone's end

Do you feel what I feel?

Do you taste what I taste?

The sweetness of a candy tart,

The bitterness of a lemon sour

Bad enough to make your face pucker for the hour,

Do you taste what I taste?

Do you see what I see?

The ocean so clear,

The book with its yellow jacket cover

And the leap of a child into the arms of his mother,

Do you see what I see?

Do you know what I know?

That is what the sixth sense is supposed to show,

Friend or Foe?

Do you know what I know?

P.S: The first chapter of Meeting Strangers will be posted soon, so stay tune!
