There is no reason for people to be afraid to dance in public any longer! The hit game Dance Dance Revolution (also known as DDR) has stormed arcades, movie theaters, amusement parks and now homes. It has just lately become the new addicting game for teenagers and adults alike in the United States.

The game consists of four directional arrows on a 33 x 37 inch dance pad, a machine that blares dance, techno, trance and jungle music and lights with which to dance the night away. The players watch the arrows on the screen and reproduce the steps on the buttons to the beat of the music.

DDR finally came out for Playstation, Playstation2 and Xbox so now DDR freaks can dance at there home without having to pay a dime after you bought all of the equipment. At Walmart, the cost of one official Konami Dance Pad for Playstation and PS2 is $19.82. Also at Walmart is DDRMAX2, the video game for PS2, for $36.27. A rough estimation of the total price of this is about $60.00.

The game for home systems has many different ways to play. Dancers are able to play on single mode (one player), verse mode (two player) , double mat (dance on both pads) and non-stop mode (play a number of songs without stopping). The player picks the difficulty of the game, beginners, light, intermediate and heavy mode.

DDR for Playstation and PS2 have a workout mode on them. This tracks how many calories are lost while playing the game (results may vary.)

Personally this game lifts me up when I play it. DDR made me feel good about myself once I started to get the hang of the game- which, may I say, did not take long at all. Since I first started playing DDR at my house a year and half ago, I have gone through five dance mats. But then I play it almost every day.
