I sat on the creamy white couch facing him. Our eyes locked together in an unbreakable connection. He has been my best friend for forever. He has always been there for me and now I had to tell him the truth.

I broke the eye contact with him it hurt too much. I really did not want to tell him the truth but I knew I had to. He reached out and touched my knee with angel like softness. He carefully turned my knees around until I was facing him directly my legs crossed in front of my.

"Let's play a game," he said breaking through the silence

"What game?"

"Just follow me, I'll led" he answered

He moved in closer until our knees were touching. He ran his hands up my legs till they reached my hips.

"Hips" he said

I smiled. His hands ran up higher feeling beneath my shirt.

"Ribs."

Still his hands moved higher though they were moving slower now.

"Chest."

Then he pulled me forwards and kissed me lightly.

"Kiss."

I smiled and laughed playfully.

"I'm dying" I whispered

"What?" he cried

I knew then that he really had heard what I said

"I have cancer. They tried to remove it but it had already spread. I'm dying."

I said everything so casually that it scared me. I stood up from the couch and proceeded to walk away.

"I love you" he whispered

I stopped at the doorway

"I love you too." I replied, tears sliding down my cheeks "stay with me forever."

He got to his feet and came over to me wrapping his arms protectively around my waist.

"I will. I'll stay with you forever."
