One last tear in the rain it falls,
In the airport. Kisses, the flight is called.
Is she running away from all she knew?
The flight's delayed, her heart is too.
Second thoughts as seconds pass.
Is this the truth and will it last?
As she starts to cry, no one hears.
The gentle sobs, the flowing tears.
The last resort has come and gone.
She boards the plane and sings her song.
The world has spun around again.
In her mind she's her only friend.
The pictures in her head have passed.
How spin-the-bottle was a blast.
Every year just passed on by.
She lost a friend and gained a guy.
The worst decision ever made,
She pays the price every day.
What happened to the good ol' years?
Of partying and sneaking beers.
Or way back when on a swinging set.
She would go so high, she would fly......and yet...
Her tears are dry and she's on her way,
To a brand new life and a brand new day.
And the rain it clears and shows a path.
She remembers smiling and learns to laugh.
Holds her head up high to kiss the sky.
And wonders why she lived that lie.
