The Long Farewell

There was no hello

And from the start

All we had was the cold reality

That nothing could ever be achieved.

From our crippled beginning

That was, within itself

The start of the goodbye,

Came a stunted and deformed connection

Twisted and mauled with pain

Pulling us together in mutual agony

How will I ever know

If we misjudged

That poor, deformed representative of reality

If we didn't fly in the face of all rules

And meddle in the affairs of time

To reverse the farewell and the beginning?
