CHAPTER 6
Later Steve, Lisa, Kate and Kevin were sitting in Lisa's sitting room, the police had finally left them. They hadn't questioned them much when Kevin opened up a water tank and showed them the decaying remains of other young women Mr. Jefferson had killed. When he woke up he admitted to it and had been arrested, The police then dropped them all off at Lisa's house. Kate yawned, it had been a long night.
"Hey, Kevin," Steve said remembering "didn't you get shot?"
"Oh, yeah. Lisa where's your bathroom?!
"Are you OK?"
"Yeah. Its just a scratch." Lisa pointed out the bathroom and Kevin left. When he came back Kate had heard all about how her friends had found her.
"OK Kevin, talk. How did you know where I was?"
Kevin sighed. "Look. Don't laugh of freak or anything OK." He looked around at them all and sighed again. "You know if you just meet someone and you don't like someone, for no reason whatsoever, it's just a feeling , or that feeling you get when you're being watched, well it's kind of like that. I can…sense stuff and it's always true. I can tell when people are lying, or read emotion and he looked at Kate "see people's dreams."
"That's how you knew what happened five years ago," Kate gasped "but how did you know who did it and I didn't?"
"Because it happened to you and I was only watching." By the way I only looked at your dream because you said you wanted to know what happened. I don't really like doing it."
"Is there anything else you can do?" Steve said slowly, trying to take it all in.
"I heal pretty fast, which is always handy and I have a few really weird friends but that's about it."
"Hang on," Kate said, remembering. "I saw you at the back of the Diner, there was a dog and it was terrified of you."
Kevin made a face "That wasn't me, that was Kali, one of my really weird friends. She's a spirit so she mostly invisible. She like messing around and animals are afraid of her. She can be really annoying sometimes. So you're not mad or anything are you?"
Lisa spoke for the first time since they started talking "You've got to admit, it's a little strange."
"Tell me about it." Kevin sighed as he flopped down into a chair. "but other than that I'm normal."
"So," Steve said teasingly, "you can't fly or anything can you?"
"I wish." Kevin answered. As they talked Kate lay back, he might be weird she thought but so was everyone really, besides he as still cute. One thing, she thought. I'm going to have an interesting holiday.
THE END.
