My Hope is Gone

My heart feels like it will explode

From the pain that it is feeling.

We tried to go our separate ways,

Only I am not succeeding.

I want so much to see his face

And the glimmer in his eye.

Instead, I only see his back

And hear him say goodbye.

I reach out and try to scream

To let him know I'm here.

I tried too late and now he's gone.

He left me with my tears.

But now my heart has come undone.

The seams are about to break.

All because I moved away,

And said what I want too late.
