Dark Night

I stood upon the moon abright,

Watching the little dark man.

When he turned around and set afire,

The earth on which he stands.

He leapt from the ground and raised his hands.

He disappeared from sight.

Only to find a second later,

That this would be a bad night.

I wailed a cry to the moon,

"Put out the fiery blaze!"

A sudden crash upon the earth,

Which brought a sheet like glaze.

It covered the earth in one great sweep.

It devoured the human beings.

With one last cry into the night,

They paid the ultimate price.
