Looking behind, at the world "In Ruin"

I see pain, suffering, anger, and hate

But in the gloom I hear a whisper

"you can only see with your eyes."

In the darkness, a speck of light

Too faint to be recognized

What of it's coming to me?

"you can only see with your eyes."

Now I ask:

What does that mean?

I see only blood when I wake.

"you can only see with your eyes."

But no matter how

I try to listen,

My eyes open up just so far.

"You can only see with your eyes."

But there is nothing to see!

I say to the night

But rotting remains of a dead world

"YOU CAN ONLY SEE WITH YOUR EYES."

And so I heard

That final whisper,

Like lead feathers in my pillow.

"you can only see with your eyes."

Its true, you know.

You can only see

The world one way

"you can only see with your eyes."

Your eyes,

Not the eyes of God,

Not the eyes of the enlightened.

"you can only see with your eyes."

And yours alone.
