"Bye mommy." said Michael, as his mom, Sharon, left for work. He turned his attention back to the movie that his three sisters, Chelsea (10), Sarah and Clara (7), Michael (4), and the baby-sitter, Anna (16) were watching. 'Ding-Dong' the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it." Anna said, getting up to answer the door. She came back, being followed by two police officers, who introduced themselves as Officer David and Officer Jordan. Officer David pulled out his gun and said, "I don't want to have to use this, but I will if you don't listen to me and do everything that I tell you. Now, I want you," he said, pointing to Chelsea, "to go upstairs with Officer Jordan and pack two backpacks. One for yourself and your brother, and one for your two sisters. Now move."

Officer David came over to them and said to Anna, " I want you to start getting the children and yourself ready to go for a car ride."

"Here, get on your jackets and shoes, and make sure that you all go to the bathroom before we leave", whispered Anna. As she looked up, Anna saw Chelsea coming down the stairs so she told her to get on her jacket and shoes as well.

When the bags were packed and the children dressed, Officer Jordan ordered, "Everyone get in the van, and don't try anything funny."

Once they were all loaded in the van they were told to sit quietly, and the trip began. The children had no idea where they were headed, but they were all together and safe, at least so far. About three hours later, Officer David, stopped the van outside of a gas station and went inside, and left Officer Jordan to watch the children. Officer David didn't realize the mistake he was making by leaving him in charge, because Officer Jordan fell asleep. When Anna noticed him nodding off, she quietly got out of the van and helped the children get out. Everyone was very quiet so they wouldn't wake up the sleeping cop. When they were all out, they ran away and hid in the back alley of the nearest store."

Together, they managed to get three blocks away, before realizing that Officer David and Officer Jordan were following them. Quickly, Anna led everyone up to a house and frantically knocked on the door, hoping someone would open it, before it was too late.

Anna knocked again, this time louder and harder than before. Then the door opened and a little girl stood in the doorway, staring at them.

"Mom," she yelled, "some people are at the door."

Her mom, Kayla, came to the door and told them to come inside. Anna explained to Kayla, why they were there and why they had to hide from the two police officers.

Kayla glanced out the window and noticed the police officers starting to come towards their house, and said, "Hurry and go hide in Katie's room. She'll show you where it is."

Outside, Kayla's husband, John was talking to the two police officers. He was asked if he had seen anyone run down the street with four children. John was about to answer 'yes', when his cell phone rang.

"Hello" he said.

"John, listen to me. Don't tell those two police officers anything." Said Kayla.

"Why?" he asked, confused.

"Those two officers kidnapped the people that they are looking for, they are in here, come and meet them." Replied Kayla.

Okay, I'll be inside in a minute." He said

"Sorry Officers. I have not seen anybody run down the street. I just got home and I'm late for lunch.

"Those people are definitely up to something." Officer David said.

Inside, Katie was told to go get Anna and the children, so John could have a look at them. He turned around when he heard footsteps come up from behind.

"Who is who?" he asked the twins.

"I'm Sarah, this is Clara, my twin sister. Chelsea, is our older sister, Michael is the youngest, and Anna is our babysitter." Said Sarah, giggling.

"Can you tell me how old you all are?" He asked.

This time, Clara spoke up and said, "Anna is 16, Chelsea is 10, Michael is 4, and Sarah and I are 7."

"Oh, I see," he said, "Kayla do we have anything to feed these children?" He said to her as she entered the room.

"I was just coming in here to tell you that lunch is ready, if you are hungry." Replied Kayla.

After lunch, John had everyone sit in the living room where he had Anna tell him why they were here. Then the doorbell rang.

"Children, come with me. I'll show you a little secret," Said Kayla, "John as soon as we are out of sight, go ahead and answer the door."
