Note: I wrote this poem so that you can read, for example, the first line of every paragraph and it will be a sort of story within itself. Or you could read the second line of every paragraph, third line, etc. Here's an example of the fourth lines: "I breathe in the dust, As the day turns to dusk, I walk through the past, To dance with the dark, For I am what was."
Who am I?
I am nobody now
I live in the walls
I breathe in the dust
The lurking child
A lingering soul
I slip past the glass
As the day turns to dusk
Silently withered
Forget-me-not
I watch through the gaps
I walk through the past
Iron trapped
I hope without hope
And long for the night –
To dance with the dark
Reaching forever
To forms like my own
But no one will remember
For I am what was
