This poem is to my twin,

The sister I never had

The times we spent finishing each other's thoughts

As if we were open books, open for only us to read

This poem is to my twin

The sister I never had

Staying up all night long

Watching scary movies

That made our stomachs twist in knots

Waiting to see the sun creep over the trees

And rise to the sky

Warming everything that was chilled

By the night air.

This is to my twin

The sister I never had

Even if we want to rip each others hair out

Or slap one another because our stupidity level grew one notch higher

What sisters don't?

We were meant to be best friends

Meant to be twins.

Caitlin this poem is for you:

My twin

The sister I never had.
