Beauty and the Beast
Memories
coalesce like ink and charcoal on wet canvas
Dissolving
into incoherence, blurred beyond belief
Remembrance takes
prevalence over everything else
(No
matter how precious they are)
The clock hand pauses;
nothing exists but the memories
One
hundred percent of innocence, now long forgotten.
Only
in recollections I can be naïve once again.
The doppelganger, an
alter-ego.
Parodying
what was
(An
evil mirror image mocking purity
With
that derisive curl of the lip)
And
it's hard to believe that's actually me.
Remembering, tasting
the past
Deriving so much more
pleasure from it
Than
the burdening ache of stone-cold truth of what is.
Beauty of the illusory
shrouds those in fantasy
Nevertheless
the beast of reality ridicules the memories
And
that wondrous beauty shatters;
Into
infinitesimal fragments of past that cut the soul.

there's something wrong with it but i can't tell what! and i've edited some parts. memories is such a boring title. beauty and the beast is hardly any better!
