"Come on......" Elane said to herself as she turned a page in her book, waiting for her two guards to come back with her dinner. "I'm starting to get hungry....." She tapped her foot impatiently. She was sitting on a windowsill in the throne room, the double door window overlooked the kingdom, the moon was soon appearing. Elane looked out it with a blank expression, she hardly ever showed any emotions, but a smile was inside her. "The perfect plan." she spoke under her breath as her guards came rushing into the room, a limp girl was in one of their arms.

"Lady Elane." The free handed one said to her as he fell to his knee, "this one almost escaped."

Elane pushed herself off the windowsill and walked over to the girl, eyes trailing to her neck. She reached up and put a hand to the girls cheek.

"Sixteen?" Elane said after a moment.

"Y-yes, as to your highnesses wishes." The guard answered.

"This one alive?"

"Of corse."

"Good," Elane took her touch from the girl and descended back to the windowsill and picked up her book. "bring her to my chambers and I will see to her once she wakes up." She made her way out of the room and left the two guards with the girl. Once they made sure she was out of earshot they began to converse.

"What could she want with these girls? What would she even do with them, she's well under sixteen."

The other guard shrugged and started to Elanes room.

"I mean," The first guard went on and followed him, "The queen died and she came here out of no where claiming she's her niece and only relative, I just find that hard to believe."

"That may be true but I don't think we should question her motives."

"I know, but still...."

----

Elane closed the double doors of her room, letting a click echo throughout the cavernous halls. She turned to her bed where the girl was lying, still unchounce. A smile went to Elanes lips.

"Better go change." She said quietly as she slid her black and purple dress off. She bend down next to her bed and waved her hand over a stone in the floor, it vanished from sight and revealed a gaping hole. She reached down into it and pulled out a stomach bearing shirt and a pair of pants that fell around the mid hip area, They were both made from dark red leather. She started to put them on as the moon was at it fullest. The clothes were much to big on her, especially around the chestal area. She walked over to the window facing the moon, first taking off her belled headband and pulling her bright red hair into a poney tail. She took in the moons rays and began to change with it. She became taller, older, fuller, and much more menacing. She let out a smile when it was done, bearing two fangs that shone in the moonlight.

That was when the girl started to wake.

Her eyes opened hazily after a few seconds, she looked about the room trying to figure out where she exactly was. Once her eyes set on vampris she quickly gave a look of horror on her face.

Elane smirked and walked over to her new prey. The girl tried to struggle but found herself binded to the bed somehow.

The woman grabbed the girl by the neck softly and started to lower her mouth to her neck.

The girl tried to scream but found her voice caught in her throat.

She could feel two sharp fangs tearing into her flesh.

At that moment the sound of the door opening could be heard. Elane quickly looked back in panic but then calmed down and smiled, with bright lips stained with blood, at who was standing before her, quickly shutting the door behind him.

"Ah, Mitsu," She smiled to the boy that had entered, "I'm almost done with my share."

"Hurry up, I'm starving and I caught that girl myself!" Mitsu said looking up at the woman, his fangs could be seen as they glinted in the moon light falling through the window and flooding the room.

"Patient, my friend, you have to be patient. I only just started!"

The girl stared at the two, though her vision was fading she could hear fine, the woman and the boy seemed close, almost happy at the situation. She couldn't understand it! There she was, getting the blood sucked from her body, and these two were actually smiling!

Her vision started to darken....she could feel the woman's fangs in her neck once again.....

----

Elane passed through a hall in the vast castle. Her book was open and her eyes were scanning the works quickly. She was in her human form, the changes were starting to annoy her, so she kept in her room as much as possible as to avoid having to change so often.

But today was important, she had to stay around outside her room as much as possible, Mitsu had told her the night before that the guards and servants were starting to wonder, and that she should make the attempt to be more human like.

"Lady Elane!" one of the guards called as he burst into the hall way, "I found this girl unconscious outside the castle walls!" he pointed his chin down to the limp girl in his arms, "What should we do with her?"

Elane looked up from her book and walked over to him as she started exaniming her. The girl looked to be ether seventeen or eighteen, much too old for her tastes. Her dirty blonde hair fell over the sides of her face and Elane could see that her side burns were much longer then the rest of her hair.

"Fine.....bring her to my chambers. I shall see to her tonight." And with that she opened her book again and walked out of the guards sight.

----

The new girl was laid across Elanes bed. Elane repeated the process from the night before and changed from her disguise. As she approached her, the blonde haired girls eyes shot open and a full smirk emitted from her face as she sat up quickly. Elane stumbled backwards with a start at the girl and looked at her wide eyed.

"I know what you are and I know your weaknesses!" The girl said as she reached a hand in her robe and pulled a necklace out. She thrusted it at her. It was a black thread with a medium sized cross tied to it. "Now, you can't hurt me when I have this, I know that much!"

Elane glared at the girl after a moments pass, then as it faded she put as much of a sweet smile she could congure up. "What would you like, dear?" she asked with false sweetness.

"My village has lost countless healthy girls their strength thanks to you." She said, "So they sent me to kill you. But, in seeing this castle and this village, my thoughts wavered and I came to a new decision. Instead of taking your life, I want to work for you."

"How could you chose that?" Elane said, dropping the fake voice once she knew what the girl was up to.

"I never liked my village. I was just a replacement when someone else went down. I came from a different village and they just tolerated me, like I was nothing but a stray dog. why else would they send me for this?"

Elane smiled to herself at the thought of another worker that knew her secret, but then thought about the possibility that she may be bluffing and this was just a trick.

"How do I know that this isn't a trick?" She asked fully.

"I offer my blood." The girl said and bent her head.

Elane walked over to her and placed a hand on the back of her neck. "I don't need that. Anyone who would take that much of a risk isn't lying." She took her hand away and the girl lifted her head up. "You have the job." Elane made her way from the bed and over to the balcony. "What was your name again?"

"I didn't give it, and It's Leo, my lady."

----

Elane swirled the contents of her glass while Leo looked at it curiously.

"What is this stuff?" She asked in her gruff voice.

"Water." Elane said calmly as she sipped from hers.

"It looks discolored...."

"It has orange fruit abstract in it, very good for sickness. Why are you so curious, it's not poisoned. I treat my guest like kings." she added with a laugh.

Leo wrapped her fingers around the handle and raised it to her lip, "not like I have anything to lose..." She said to herself as she took a sip, only to sip it back out in disgust. "Woah!" She barked, "Orange isn't the only thing in that!"

"Oh, did I forget to mention?" Elane said running the tip of her slender finger around the rim of her glass, "Along with orange it has a few drops of human blood."

"What!?" Leo yelled, "I could've died from that stuff! The body can't drink blood, the heart would stop from all the iron! You sure you aint trying to kill me?"

"I assure you. A vampires body is different, I just forgot your weak bodies can't consume it." She rose from her seat and walked over to Leo, lifting a lock of her dirt blond hair from the side of her face, "But you aren't human, are you now?"

Elane had reveled Leo's ears, an elf ear. Leo snatched her hair away from Elanes long fingers and looked up at her angrily. "How did you know?"

"I had a feeling," Elane smirked.

Leo's eyes trailed over to the scrawny guard in the corner, the one who had carried her into the castle.

"Is he on your side?" She asked her.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you're in your vampire form infront of that guy."

"Oh, don't mind him. I'm his mentor."

"You're his mentor? He has to be twice your age!"

"Watch who you call old, granny." Came a voice, that was somehow shrill and strong at the same time, behind her.

Leo turned in her chair to see a small boy in baggy robes and blackish blondish hair pulled back in a pony tail, in his arms was a thick staff about twice his height.

"That's Mitsu." Elane said walking over to him, "I found him one day when I lived back home. He was weak and sick, so I took him in. He wouldn't leave when he was better. He's been following me around as far as I can remember."

Leo looked back to where the guard was, he had vanished.

"He can change form....." She mused to herself. She noticed a black leather bound book under Elanes arm. "What's that book?" Leo asked.

"This? Oh, I found it in one of the upper rooms of the castle. A journal by a man named Jonathan Harker. Anyway, we need to get you out of those rags." She looked back to the boy, "Mitsu, would you show her to her room?"

"Of course," Mitsu said flashing a fanged smile up to her, then looked to Leo," come on, elf." he said without the smile and walked over to the double doors.

Leo got up, starting to not like this boy, and followed him. She turned to Elane who waved at her with a bright smile on her lips. The elven girl looked back to Mitsu who had changed once again to the form of the guard.
