The Early Riser by the Ginger Ninja

The forest was beautifully warm even with its cool breeze, a welcome relief to the bitter cold of the city. The endless shades of green swirling and mixing with one another seemingly alive gave the area a feeling of other worldliness, like an alien world. Flowers of endless colours were adding to the atmosphere that was alien yet so familiar, bringing a smile upon the early riser's face. The images assaulted the early riser at once, each one demanding attention at once. The smells enveloped the early riser who had decided to walk through this Forbidden Paradise of luscious flowers and trees smelling like the most wondrous and expensive perfume. A deep breath would soothe the soul and quiet the mind, feeling as good to the early riser as a smokers first cigarette of the day, only much healthier. Gone was the murderous passion of the early riser, floating away as if it were part of the cool breeze that was flitting around, playfully tossing the trees discarded leaves around in a game of catch. But the early riser was not part of this world she was busy discovering. She knew it was not meant for as bad a person as she. The light made the place holy and the blood from countless victims stained the palms on the early riser's hand making the Forbidden Paradise both inviting and dangerous all at once. The light poured through the leaves of the countless trees and flowers, pouring and cleansing the early riser with a heavenly glow, spilling from the sun like a glass of orange juice that a careless child was knocking over in the rush for schooling that his future was so desperately craving.

The early riser raised a hand to allow a butterfly complete a graceful landing which was perfectly executed for such a delicate creature in the breeze that could so easily push it off course. The early riser removed the hood that kept her face hidden from the public eye and closed her eyes, wanting to become one with the Forbidden Paradise and leave her wicked ways behind her, like footsteps in the snow. Her hair became part of the cool breeze's game of catch, billowing out around her head and catching the light that poured forth from the sun like a cascading waterfall. As if some unseen force was guiding her, the early riser walked in a trance towards the tree whose leaves were a list of never ending colours. A twinkling aura emanating from within the tree swirling with all the shades of every colour imaginable embraced the early riser and she fell to her knees and allowed it to search her mind, body and soul. A new sense of freedom was flushing into the early riser's mind when the intoxicating Forbidden Paradise began to cloud over, darkness rushing in and engulfing everything. Darkness swallowing the light of the plants, replacing them with lifeless stubs, darkness expelling the cool breeze and heating it up, the butterflies with all their grace and the aura that was cleansing the early riser. Darkness replaced the tumbling sunlight with a fearful red glow. She felt the change and turned around in fear. Her eyes darting from one side to another looked for the familiar glow of the Forbidden Paradise but it was gone, replaced with a burnt out wasteland surrounded on all sides by fire. The early riser was at once confused and understanding. Confused as to how she got here but understanding why she was here. This was her soul. Her dark damaged soul that she so desperately searched to repair. The Forbidden Paradise was giving her the chance she was so desperately seeking and she wasn't going to throw it away because she wished to be returning to her Forbidden Paradise but knew she couldn't until she was no longer an evil being but full of good intention.

After all, good always triumphs over evil...

AN: To be perfectly honest, I have no idea who the character is or what her past is. There won't be a sequel. Make of it what you will...
