Stars In A Dream

By Luke Rook

Her eyes the depth of rain through leaves in spring

Her skin is like honey in the sun

Her hair shines in its rays

like strawberries in a garden

Inside her mouth she licks her tongue

She leans her arms and body back

Stretching herself out to be taken

The nectars of the fruit smell sweet

On her body she laid them

The tree of temptation has been shaken

Memories like the sun in autumn

Returning like the rain in spring

Burning in me like the day in August

Lifting me like stars in a dream

With the wind to cover the sounds of love

Inside of trees in our meadow

She sways like flowers and leaves

when she is touched

Her hair on me like the shade of a willow

She puts her words into my mouth with kisses

And opens my heart like she is peeking

Her eyes subdue me when lifted

She raises them finding and seeing

as she enters into my arms seeking

Memories like the sun in autumn

Returning like the rain in spring

Burning in me like the day in August

Lifting me like stars in a dream
