Truth in Dreams

Dreaming

I see you

Watching

As a blade flicks out

Astounded

As itenters you

Staring

At my hand

Wondering

I had just done that

Confounded

as to why?

- - -

Running

Far away

Glancing

Over my shoulder

Followed

by hidden shadows

Stalking

me, close by

Sprinting

now top speed

Confused

As to where I was

Slowing

to a walk

Stopping

where I am.

- - -

Dripping

blood on my hand

Slipping

with my grip on reality

Exhaled

taking in great breaths

Confusing

all my thoughts

Pondering

why? Why? Why?!

- - -

Awakened

by an alarm

Stumbling

with clothes, food and speech

Announcing

Over the intercom...

- - -

You are Dead.

Writer's Note: Well, I don't usually write these notes, but this poem came from nowhere, so I think it deserves a footnote.

I was sitting at home, and was thinking about a friend of mine and just looking about...and suddenly this sudden, vivid scene of a fog-filled place, a flash steel, running breaths and a hallway just appeared in my head. It was so bizzare, I patched it together and got the poem-like writing above.

Not sure why, not sure what caused it, but...review please?
