The Fiery Tongue

A fiery tongue of flame,

Spewing from my mouth.

Wrath, sin, and hate,

Pouring out like sulfur.

Forest fires a-spreading,

My body consumed with sin.

All this from my little and supposedly insignificant tongue,

The tiny spark,

Started the consummation of my whole self,

My fate sealed,

Almost too late.

Perhaps I should have destroyed the source of all the lies

And hatred

That destroyed my life:

My fiery, raging, tongue.
