The Cheese Poem

In a dark corner

Up on a tiny platform

I sit

Waiting soundlessly

Small metal bars

Above me, below me

And on all sides of me

Suspended timelessly

The day I've been waiting for comes

I see it

A flash of gray coming closer

Moving cautiously

Closer and closer

Soon my life's work will be complete

Right in front of me now

Snap! The bars are too fast

I have completed my mission

Soon they will replace me

Reset the Bars

And throw out the small gray body
