Story

Chapter 1

Walking down the hall with my girlfriends, we were passed by the 'babes' of the school. The leader of them was Alyssa Saunders, blonde haired, blue eyed beauty that she is. Followed by her posse, consisting of Jessica Fields, Katherine Donovan and Nicole Thompson. I had been close friends with Nicole, but her boobs happened to develop a lot quicker than mine, and she had been accepted by the 'popular' girls. Man, how I hated them! They never went one day without saying some snide comment to me and my friends.

Alyssa stopped her posse and smiled at us. Now we know this is trouble. Alyssa hates us, she wouldn't do something like smile at us unprovoked.

"Callie!" She placed a hand on my shoulder. "Omigosh! I haven't spoken to you in forever!" She gushed at me and pulled me into a tight hug.

This confused me greatly. I have never spoken to Alyssa, really, just listened to her threats and insults. Now here she was acting like we were best friends? What was she up to?

Sydney Pastors, my friend, stepped forward, her small, five foot stature not too intimidating, but her leathal, bleach blonde hair and many piercings is enough to throw someone off. She crossed her arms. "Excuse me, but I don't believe you've ever spoken to Calista. And I don't think you have the right to call her 'Callie', whore."

We all stared at Syd. It's true that she always speaks her mind, but she never uses slurs of any kind. She prefers shouting and cursing, pacing and guestering, not actually calling them names. Alyssa blinked her heavily mascaraed eyes at my short friend, clearly taken aback. Her posse backed up, afraid of the small, angry female, not backing up their 'friend' at all.

Alyssa sneered at her, but, surprisingly, turned her attention back to me. "So, Callie. I was wondering if you wanted to come to a party I'm throwing at my house this weekend." She beamed at me. "You can even bring a few friends!" She glared at Syd, before turning her full attention to me again. "I was also thinking, that you could tell your brothers about the party. I know they're busy, what with all of their gigs, but if they had a free spot in their schedule, maybe they could fit this in!"

I stared at her. Unbelievable! She trying to get to my brothers, through me! And my brothers weren't even in her league! They were part of the 'untouchables'. Every girl wanted them, but none seemed to be able to snag one. Alyssa had been trying to get their attention for two years now, even though she almost always had a boyfriend. The same guy, too. Bradley Davis, the junior football player who was already being scouted for a scholarship to Notre Dome. They had an off-and-on relationship, starting from when Alyssa was a freshman. They were currently 'split up', but rumor was that Brad was working his way back into Alyssa's affections.

Another friend, Rozalyn Winters, moved forward this time. "Listen, bitch. Callie wouldn't want to hang out with you even if it meant she had to mop the bathrooms with her tongue. So fuck off. Besides," she looked down her nose at Alyssa, which wasn't that hard, considering Roz is five-foot-eight, while Alyssa is five-foot-four, "one of the Livingston brothers is already taken." The smug look on her face told Alyssa exactly who had 'stolen the heart' of one of my 'wonderful' older brothers.

Alyssa's jaw dropped. I'm sure she couldn't believe that a 'loser' had gotten to one of the Livingston's before her. I still can't believe everyone thinks they're gorgeous.

Alyssa decided to try and not diss my friends in front of me, trying to stay on my good side, I guess. She faced me with a forced smile. "Well, Callie, if you could maybe just mention it to them... I'd like it if they could play."

I smiled at her. "Alyssa, I wouldn't go to your party, or tell my brothers about it, if you threatened to kill me, maim the body, burn it, then toss it into a vat of oil. So take Roz's advice." I leaned forward. "Fuck. Off"

She gaped again, then stuck her chin in the air and huffed off. I could have sworn I saw a bit of a smile on Nicole's face, and caught the hint of a barely concealed giggle, but she just looked at me impassively and moved on.

After the group left, I turned and grinned at my friends. Valoree Callaway didn't smile back like the others. She was always the more practical one of us, never losing her head. Syd slapped my hand.

"I'm glad you stood up for yourself this time! Usually me and Roz have to bail you out!" She jumped a bit, getting excited.

"It's 'Roz and I', not 'me and Roz'. Honestly, what do they teach in tenth grade English these days?" The deep voice forced us to turn around.

The owner of the voice turned out to be my brothers' best friend, Ezekiel Thompson, Nicole's older brother. I have always had a crush on Zeke, but he's two years older than me, and practically thinks of me like a little sister. At least he used to. Zeke has stunning features. His jet-black hair, that he shared with Nicole, fell into his bright, deep blue eyes, that were the opposite of Nicole. His jaw was strong and his cheek bones sharp-ish. He towered over me, and beat my brothers by two inches, standing at a tall, six-foot-three. And he had the most beautiful singing voice I've ever heard. With him was Westbrook Harper, another semi-friend of my brothers. Westbrook never really aligned himself with any group. He had the same black hair as both Zeke and Nicole, but his eyes were green, which made a beautiful contrast. An inch shorter than Zeke, he was easily one of the most attractive guys in school, but he was openly homosexual, so the girls just flocked to him for gossip and advice.

I rolled my eyes. "Zeke, you are such an idiot. No one really cares if we have great grammar, not even our teachers. If you want to do something worthwhile, go beat some sense into your little sister." He never seemed to care that his sister was a complete bitch to the people she used to consider friends.

He raised and eyebrow at me. "Excuse me?" He crossed his arms and looked down at me. "I think that if you have a problem with Nicole, you should bring it up with her yourself." He nudged West. "C'mon. Jay and Faulk aren't here today." He looked back at me. "Right?"

I shrugged. "They didn't drive me to school this morning." I scowled. "So I had to walk seven blocks to get here."

Zeke looked at me blankly. "You could've taken the bus, moron. That's what it's there for."

I blinked at him. "What do you mean? "You think I would take the bus?" I scoffed. "Yeah, right! Like I would take that broken down, shitty little intrument of torture."

He shrugged. "Your choice." With that, he turned around and left. I would've been offended, but this gave me a chance to check out his ass in jeans, which was against school policy. I hadn't seen him in jeans since three weeks ago, since that was the last time he was over at my house, and our school made you where khaki pants.

West smiled at us. "I apologize for his behavior." He leaned forward, conspiratorily. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was PMSing."

We all grinned, knowing that Zeke always acted this way towards us, only warming up when he thought he might get something out of it.

Zeke, obviously hearing, turned around and glared at West. "Brook! Shut the fuck up, I can still here you."

West grinned. "That was the point, babe." He threw an arm over Zeke's shoulder, as if they were a couple. We all know West doesn't think of Zeke like that, he just loves to flirt and make him squirm.

Zeke shifted his shoulders, throwing the arm off. "Fuck off, Brook. And don't call me 'babe'. I don't like it." He spun back around. "Now let's go!"

West winked at us. "See you all around." He spun with flourish and threw his arm over Zeke's shoulders again.

I smiled and called out to them. "See ya, West!" I waved when he glanced back. "Bye, babe!!" I smiled sweetly when Zeke glared at me. I waggled my fingers and blew him a kiss.

His face grew red, from blushing or anger, I couldn't tell. West looked delighted, while my friends all grinned and waved.

Sighing, I turned back around and faced my friends. "So! What to do today?" I actually didn't want to be at school. I would've stayed home with my brothers, but they pushed me out the door. They were probably up to something. They always were.

Roz shrugged. "I don't know." Her face lit up with a smile. "I know!! We could go to your house, Cal!" She nudged me.

I rolled my eyes. "Why my house?!" I knew why she wanted to go. 'Cause her boyfriend, my brother, is at my house. Surprisingly enough! Who'd have thought that one of my brothers would be at my house?

Roz just shrugged again, this time with a sly smile. "I don't know... I mean, your parents aren't home... but I'm sure your brothers are! Maybe they'd do an acoustic mini-concert for us!" Her eyes twinkled mysteriously. "Maybe the rest of the band'll drop by too! That way, you'd be able to see the sexy singer..."

I glared at her. "Shut the fuck up, Roz! I do not think Zeke is sexy!"

"Oh really now? Is that so?" A familiar deep voice caused me to blush a deep crimson. "Well, at least we're on a similar wavelength, 'cause I don't think you're sexy, either."

I spun around. "What the fuck are you doing here?! I thought you left!!" To tell the truth, his comment hurt me. I actually did find him sexy. Very sexy.

He smirked at me. "Well, Cal, since you asked so nicely, I'm here to tell you that your brothers want you at home." He held out his phone so I could see the text message.

I sneered at him. "They could've texted me themselves."

Shrugging, he pocketed his phone. "How should I know what's going through their minds? You're their sister, you should have a clue." He started to walk away, but turned to look back at us. "Well? Aren't you coming, brat?"

I scowled at him. He was always such an ass! "You're an asswipe, you know that?!" I stalked over to him. Glaring at my friends over my shoulder, I motioned them over. "Are you fucking coming or what?!"

Zeke tsked. "Shame on you, Cal. Cursing as much as you do. You're probably ear-marked for hell already!" He smirked at me.

I turned my glare at him. "Shut your face, Ezekiel." I inwardly smiled at the sneer that crossed his face when I said his full name. "You and my brothers curse more than anyone could in a lifetime."

He grunted and walked to his car, twirling his keys. I followed him with my friends, which would probably piss him off, since he hates more than one 'kid' around him at a time.

Val walked next to me. "Ya know... You really suck at lying." She gave me a very sympathetic look.

I narrowed my eyes at her suspiciously. "What are you talking about? I haven't lied about anything." What was she trying to get at...?

She sighed, as if the answer were obvious. It wouldn't have mattered if it was, I'm so slow when it comes to hints. "Stop denying that you think Zeke is sexy. We all know you're secretly in love with him. Just accept the truth already and do him!"

To say I was shocked would have been a drastic understatement. My eyes bluged, and my jaw hit the ground. "W-Wh-What?!?!" I sputtered. "Val!! I am not in love with Zeke!" I leaned in close so my heated whispers would be heard only by her. "And I would not 'do' him!" I looked down, dejected. "Even if I wanted to, he wouldn't go for it."

Val let out a strange sound, like she couldn't decide to be happy or frustrated. "Ha! You do like him!" She whacked my arm. "Don't say that! You don't know!" She smiled knowingly. "I'm sure he'd like the idea, very much."

I was going to try and weasle more answers out of her, but we had reached the car. I tried to catch her eye and mentally tell her that she and I were gonna talk later, but she wasn't looking at me. My friends all piled in the back seat then sent me very innocent grins. I sent them all death glares and tried to squeeze in with them.

Zeke noticed. "Cal. What the fuck are you doing?" He looked at me oddly. "There's no room back there, you'll have to take shotgun."

I gave him my best puppy eyes. "But you're a scary driver! You always go super fast and I think I'm gonna die!!" It always worked on my brothers.

Zeke just shrugged. "Alright, I'll go slower then. Just get in the car." He leaned across the seats and opened the passenger side door.

My friends all grinned at me. They had planned this. I knew it. They knew I knew it. It was a cruel, cruel game that had started, and they were winning.

Sighing, I climbed out of the back seat and made my way to the front. I sat down carefully, not wanting to sit too close to Zeke. "You had better go slow." I sent him a glare that he just smiled at.

Pulling out of the driveway, he took the turn sharply, causing the tires to screech. The motion caused all of us to be flung to one side of the car. I was thrown into Zeke, landing on his lap. He stopped at the first red light, which was five feet away from the exit to the living room. I hadn't had the time to pull myself out of his lap, so he smirked down at me.

"Well, Cal, I thought you didn't think I was sexy." He moved his arms so I could back into my seat. "That's what you get for not wearing your seat-belt, kiddo." He moved the car forward when the light changed.

I glowered at him. He truly was a first-class asshole. "Fuck off, Zeke. I hate your guts." I slumped in my seat, crossing my arms in a pout. "You shouldn't have driven like an ass." I heard slight giggles in the back. This would be the worst trip of my life.
