The flowers are dead
And the leaves wither'd and fallen
The grass is pale
And the wind blows forlon

Summer's gone
And the animals are asleep
Hiding in their little burrows
'neath the earth

Snow blankets the ground
Crunch-crunch as you walk past.
All is cold,
Cold as death.

Summer's gone
And the life that
Once filled this land
Is gone

So I put down my pen
And look out the window
In the cold, dark vastness
And I lay back in my chair

With a head full of dreams
And a heart full of hope
I stare off into space
And see summer coming once again.
