Run

A full moon shone down on the city of Dublin, Ireland. The night was young- only eleven p.m., and people were just starting to emerge from their daytime lazyness and head for the clubs, preparing to dance and drink until closing- 6 a.m. or earlier. Then, they would go about their sluggish daytime schedules, meandering the day away until the moon has risen again, resurrecting everythingtoagainthrive in the night- in the haze of the back alleyways and the fog machines in the clubs and the smoke-polluted air in the pubs.

Tonight, the second night of the grand opening of the club Mckay, caused the nightlife to increase even more- attracting more people to come out, eat, drink, and of course, party. Music floated to the streets, drawing people into the clubs and pubs, where they would stay until morning, or until they got kicked out for fighting or until passing out at the bar.

Above club Mckay, now booming with a variety of music from rock to trance and teeming withdeviantswho thrive in the night, an apartment sat, dark and silent- except for the music that pulsated its rhythmic beat through the walls and the floor. In the one- room studio apartment, a being slept, oblivious to the ruckus downstairs. She had learned to live with the noise-especially being a night thriver herself- the deep bass lulled her to sleep wile staying out of her dreams, permitting her to slumber.

Her chest slowly rose and fell as she twitched slightly and turned over in the soft mattress that held her slightly pale and thin body. She frowned lightly and an occasional moan would escape her lips as she tossed and turned, then lay still for a moment. Nightmares troubled her slumber and invaded her dreams…

She was alone in an alley, unable to walk for some reason. A dark shadow of a man loomed above her, eyes glowing red. She was lost in their haunting gaze until the pain of a knife in her back made itself known to her. She tried to scream, but nothing came out…. She couldn't move…

Kelly Dylan opened her eyes ad sat up, gasping. Her bed was soaked in sweat, as it was dripping from her hair and beading her forehead and her skin. She looked around frantically, noticing she as in her own quarters, taking in the familiar pigsty of an apartment and sighing in relief at the realization that it was only a dream.

But something in the back of her mind troubled her. It wasn't only a dream. And more than just its essence was sure to invade her life if she didn't find a way to pay back the money…

Time to face the monster himself...
