Me Too
Part I - The First Day

Anne stood in her doorway and smiled shyly.

"I had a good time. I'd like to go out again sometime."

Jacob looked at Anne, her hair glinting gold in the porch light. When he peered into her azure eyes, he grinned at the sincerity he saw there.

"Me too."

Part II - The Fourth Year

"You may now kiss the bride."

Jacob placed his hand on the back of Anne's neck and leaned in.

"I love you," she whispered, her eyes sparkling. She put her hand on his shoulder and pulled him closer. They kissed, then gazed at each other.

"Me too."

Part III - The Fifth Decade

In the impersonal hospital room, Jacob leaned forward and smoothed Anne's brittle, white hair away from her face. He took her hand in his. Tears in his eyes, he murmured, "I'll be right here. I love you."

Her eyes fluttered open, and they shined wetly.

"Me too."
