Stagger
down the street the other day
Socially hypothesising
About
something or other
Light a cigarette
Remember where I'm
going…
And I try
to keep my head down
I don't want to look around
Because the
world is not full of New Men
And this place is full of the other
It's
hard not to be disheartened
By the glaring idiocy
Of half the
people that I can see
Half are rich and half are poor
Everyone
should know better
On my council estate
The men disgust
me
And at my grammar school
The men disgust me
And on my
council estate
There's endless prejudice
And at my grammar
school
So much prejudice
And I'm
floating day by day
To remember where I am
And I light another
cigarette
And I keep my head down
I concentrate on the
ground
This place is bathed in rain
And I'm glad
because
I can keep my head down
And I don't have to look
around
