Insignificance
An insignificant detail
Just one star in the sky
One grain of sand
One truth between lies
Among the billions
I am but one,
I've nothing to add
Got nowhere to run
Expecting great things
They pressure me so,
They want so much
I've got nowhere to go
I'm not good enough,
But I'll try my best
My absolute hardest
To benefit the rest
I fall in the grass and
Stare at the sky
I lay there and wonder
Why they want me to try
Each small blade of grass
Leaves its mark on me
Each there for a purpose
An imprint, you see
Now when I die
I'll be lost in the race
Who will remember?
If I've left no trace
But what is my purpose
What mark am I to leave?
I don't know what I want,
What I want to achieve
Why am I so utterly
Insignificant?
I don't know what to do
I just need a hint
I have been lost
As someone who blends
Nobody fun, not
Caught up with the trends
I want to stand out
Jump 'way from the crowd
And shout at the millions
Be strong and loud
To tell them I'm different,
I'm better, I'm strong!
To tell them I'm right
And they can't make me wrong
But I am too quiet, too
Shy to relate
So I must be content
With my insignificant
fate
