Plea to a Fox

Oh fox in the starlight,
Bewitch me, I beg!

Oh trickster in moonlight,
Possess me, I cry!

Oh spirit of haunting power,
Deceive me, mislead me,
Now in this ghostly hour.

Give me insane stories of misty nights to tell,
Of which none but you can know,
What truly befell.

I'll be waiting for you, oh Fox unseen,
To take me reeling through a dream,

A murky realm of illusion,
Oh Fox please forgive my intrusion,

But may I be so bold,
I only dare to behold,

What strange magic you control,
To so entrance this lost and lonesome soul.
