When life is an endless trudge

in front of Percy's Wheel,

and weary I,

and stubborn I,

Fling up my arms,

sink to the earth,

plant myself there, and say,

"Enough."

He turns to me and smiles,

offering his hand with a look

of amused

requirement

that makes me give up—

the giving up.

He laughs me out of my blues,

He tickles me, he teases too,

He laughs me out of my blues.
