"Societal Abortion"
Let loose from all your ties,
Severed and unpoetic
With verses frayed and disengaging
Through hazy eyes of apathy.
Unlinked and left to fight against
The mainstream current
Of societal abortion,
But at least I'm true in self.
So smile me something deceptive,
Jagged and falsely beautiful,
And write my name on bathroom walls.
Just to enslave my spirit,
A possession you'll never claim.
So push me into corners
To disregard your failing command
And the defiance that remains untamed
In spite of your sugar charm.
