There were polka-dotted raindrops

tumbling down from the sky

His hands, her body,

and a combination of bursting hearts

in fabricated mistakes that were repeating

before they were even made.

His lips were alkaline brilliance,

sliding across hers in lyrical perfection

as her smile shown through her eyes,

and buried sunlight appeared between the crevices

in her hollow tears.

She felt the sincerity in his fingertips,

saying "I can see your heart,

just beyond the horizon."

but her own sat at the very bottom of her

distantly humane reality,

crumbled into the ashes of

someone else's.

and his fingers bled trying to touch her

through the faint glass wall

that imprisoned her already shattered trust.
