Chapter 1
"Can you believe them?" my best friend Mika whispered to me.
"I don't believe it. It's impossible," I leaned over to her chair and whispered back. "Christopher Ho and Trisha Chu are actually breaking up?"
"Unbelievable," Mika shook her head.
By the way, my name is Nicole Fuentes, your normal average girl with a not so average problem, but you'll hear more about that later. For now, we're in class. Not exactly class, since our Math teacher Mr. Miranda is absent for the day, so we were left with an activity and after the activity…
Well, we had the rest of the period to ourselves.
The rest of the class were pretty busy enjoying the entertainment that Christopher Ho and Trisha Chu provided for us by breaking up in front of the entire class. Their break up is gonna be enough to feed the gossip mills for months.
"Please, Christopher, don't break up with me. We're perfect together," Trisha pleaded with Christopher.
They had just arrived from one of their "walks" to the school supplies store on the school campus together and now they were standing in front of the whole class arguing. I guessed that Trisha confessed something on the way back to the classroom.
"We were perfect together, Trisha. We're over!" Christopher yelled and threw his hands in the air.
"Please don't dot this," Trisha pleaded again. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to play around with Joey."
Wow. What a classic soap opera situation.
"Don't worry," Christopher said sarcastically. "I'll find someone else. Be happy with Joey."
"Christopher…" Trisha reached for his shoulder..
"Get lost, Trisha," Christopher looked at her with eyes full of disgust and stepped out of the classroom, leaving the entire class gaping after him.
Ouch. The rumor about Trisha Chu and Joey Rodriguez had just been confirmed. That was so humiliating. Let's analyze the situation from Christopher's point of view. Your girlfriend, the prettiest girl in the entire school, two timed you with Joey Rodriguez, a brainless basketball player, and you're the hottest guy in the entire school, not to mention the fact that girls are all over you… How would that feel? Double ouch. Oh, and what if she admitted the alleged affair in front of your classmates, your friends, practically the entire school? Triple ouch. Christopher must be so damaged. Well, so am I.
