The undisputable cuteness of Spongebob and other characters

First off don't get me wrong. The sponge character is funny and I do enjoy watching him. Same goes with other characters like him. It's just that I do not like the effect he is having on teenagers. In my lunch hour at school, I see smart kids printing off his picture and showing it to each other giggling. Maybe I'm just trying to justify the way I feel left out of these 'giggle fits' but, this is just creepy! I hate to see the mind of a teenager go down the drain!

Do we, teenagers, have anything better to do than go around giggling? It's nice to fool around and giggle about a character like Spongebob. Heck, I've done it. But to have someone put a picture of him up to my face and say "Do you love Spongebob? I love Spongebob! He's cute!" is a little too much for me.

Whatever happened to the good old days when teenage girls only talked about cute guys with big biceps and sexy eyes? It made much more sense to me...Maybe the Spongebob phase is like the boy-crazy phase. We'll all grow out of it someday? And don't anyone get me started on the cartoon bunnies and monkeys on t-shirts! They haunt me too much!
