A/N: Don't worry, this doesn't mean I won't update 'In the End' anymore. It just means that I had some other ideas in my head too and...well...I just had to use them. I promise that 'In the End' will not suffer because of this.
Anyway, here's my new story. Hope you enjoy. I know this a short and not very promising prologue, but please just hang in there, okay? I promise it will get better, starting next chapter. :-)
"Shoot! What time is it?!" Lynne exclaimed as she jumped up from her boyfriends lap and searched around for a clock to answer her question.
"I don't know...8.15 or something." Nathan shrugged.
"Please tell me you're kidding me!"
Lynne walked over to the double bed in the middle of the room and grabbed her jacket of it. A panicked expression appeared on her face and Nathan watched his girlfriend with a worried look on his face.
"No, I'm not. Why?"
"I promised my dad I'd be home on time to make him dinner."
"Like he cares."
"Nate..." Lynne warned hin,
"Well, it's true. The only thing the man gives a damn about is his beer."
"Which is exactly why I wanted to make him some dinner. He has to eat."
Lynne tried to put on her jacket, but one of the sleeves was turned inside out. She sighed.
"Would you relax?" Nathan said. "You're already late. There's nothing you can do about that now. So come sit with your boyfriend for one more minute to give him a proper goodbye kiss."
Lynne looked at Nate from where she was standing, then she gave in. She slowly walked up to him and Nathan grabbed her arm. He wanted to pull her onto his lap, but Lynne wouldn't let him just yet.
"One more minute." She wanted to make him promise.
"One more minute." Nathan promised.
Lynne smiled at Nate, before allowing him to pull her onto his lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck and softly kissed him. Nathan hungrily deepened the kiss and the kissing became more passionate. After a while, Lynne broke the kiss.
"One minute is one minute." She whispered in his ear.
She tried to get up, but of course Nathan wouldn't let her.
"Stay." He urged her.
"When will I see you again?"
"Tomorrow. At school."
"I can't wait that long." Nate moaned as he softly kissed her neck.
"Don't be such a baby." Lynne told him, not giving in.
"How about tonight? Why can't I see you tonight?"
"Aren't you going out with the guys?"
Nathan sighed as he remembered the promise he made to his friends.
"Yes...but I could cancel it."
"Don't. I have to take care of my dad tonight, so I don't have much time anyway. I'll just see you tomorrow. You'll survive."
"Fine.." Nathan gave in as he let go of her and Lynne got up from his lap.
"Thank you." She said. "You're an angel."
"I'll see you tomorrow. Have fun tonight...and behave! Stay away from the blonde streetwalkers okay?"
Lynne bent forward and placed a sweet kiss on his lips.
"Love you." She whispered.
"Love you too."
Lynne turned around and left her boyfriend's bedroom. Right before closing the door behind her she heard him say:
"How about brunettes? Do I have to stay away from streetwalkers that are brunettes too?"
Lynne shook her head and gave him the finger. With that, she left the room. God, she hated that guy. And at the same time she loved him so much. It was weird...
Lynne sighed when she heard her cell phone ring. Who could that be at this time of the day? Or night really, since it was almost midnight. She climbed out of bed and turned on the lamp that was on her nightstand. She searched through her bag and quickly answered the phone when she found it.
Lynne immediately recognized the voice. It was Nathan's mom.
"Mrs. Hewitt? What's wrong?"
The woman on the other end of the line hesitated a minute before answering. Her voice sounded down and full of sadness.
"There's been an accident..."
A/N: I know this is not very promising, but a review would be very much appreciated anyway. Thanks. :-)
