Darling, please believe me, I'll never do you no harm, murmured
the stereo, and Jurt sighed into my chest. My fingers brushed the rim
of my wineglass. It was almost empty, with only the ruby dregs
gleaming in the bottom. Believe me when I tell you, I'll never do
you no harm... I lifted my hand slowly, balancing the glass at an
awkward angle. An indigo arm twined around mine, and the attached
hand wrapped around my own, guiding the glass to Jurt's mouth
instead of mine.
Oh! Darling, if you leave me, I'll never make it alone. "That was mine you know," I whispered into his ear. "Now I need to get up and get to the bottle again." Our arms set the wine glass back down on the floor beside out couch. He curled his legs tighter around mine, our hands clasped as they brushed the carpet. My toes curled against the velveteen cushion. Believe me when I thank you, oooh, Don't ever leave me alone.
"Do you really think so?" he asked quietly, twisting around so that he could look me in the eye. His are brilliant, amber with speckles of gold, and only get brighter in the haze of wine. When you told me, You didn't need me anymore, Well you know I nearly broke down and cried... He smiled. "I don't think so," he said, and kissed me. "Besides," he added as we broke apart, "there isn't any more."
Oh! Darling, if you leave me, I'll never make it alone. "I guess there's no point in getting up then," I sighed, and kissed him as he shifted to face me fully. Believe me when I tell you, I'll never do you no harm, Believe me darling...
