Now with trouble far behind them
James was in a laughing mood
And bluntly accused Michael
Of mathematical ineptitude

For James had quickly finished
And Steven turned the lock
To 16,18,20
It came as quite a shock

As the walls came down around them
And the vault sunk to the floor
When the dust ceased to surround them
It revealed the castles hidden door

They entered through the passageway
The hinges creaked with age
They were in the dungeon
In a dark and dreary cage

But the dungeon doors had not been locked
And opened still with ease
For the king had never used them
The bars stood dense and leafless trees

They saw one cell was occupied
A sight almost surreal
The king and queen sat solemnly
Inside their cage of steel

But the cell it suffered from disuse
The simple shafts cold not resist
As Steven broke the brittle bars
Within his tightened fist

But they did not wait for gratitude
They said a quick goodbye
As they scrambled up the stairway
That stood climbing towards the sky

Michael reached the tower first
Followed by his motley band
The door stood gaping open
Revealing Edgar, sword in hand

Michael spied an ancient sword
Upon a mossy block
He took the sword from where it lay
As Edgar's sword it struck a rock

Edgar had the upper hand
And quickly made it known
As he swiftly cornered Michael
He at last was on his own

Edgar's sword swung wildly
At his weak and weary foe
But Michael stood there calmly
Deflecting every blow

And Edgar now grew tired
Of this dull and useless game
And took a swing at Michael's head
But he blocked it all the same

Edgar Black was now enraged
And mad from being mocked
Now each one took a mighty swing
And found themselves with sabers locked

Michael he was stronger
From months of being trained
But Edgar's sword was longer
And his wrath fell unrestrained

But Michael sidestepped quickly
And escaped the crushing Blow
And stood ready in the center
For Edgar's onslaught fast and low

The two their swords clashed violently
And Edgar's snapped to half its length
For though his sword was sharp and long
He matched Michael not in strength

Now Michael took no chances
And brought his sword to rest
Where he held it, poised to strike
An inch from Edgar's chest

They put him in the dungeon
In the cell that held the hidden door
Though they knew he would attempt escape,
They saw him nevermore

For as he reached the crossroads
The poor fool traveled east
He strolled along the blackened caves
The dragon had a feast

Peace came to the Isle of Light
Where dragons dwell and fairies dance
A place you can find in the realm of your mind
But you never reach by chance

Our adventurers were heroes
And they went their separate ways
And the four of them lived happily
Until their final days
