The Wishing Star

There shines the brightest star of all

It flies, with burning light

I wonder if it may ever fall

Down from the sky at night

I'd hold it my hands, I will

I'd hold it with all my might

And wish upon that star, I will

The star that shines so bright

I'd wish for treasure,

I'd wish for gold

Wish for no pain, only pleasure

I'd even wish never to get old!

But when I think, I ask myself

Why wish for things with their value high?

I'd wish for a ladder, not for ones self,

But for the star, to place back into the sky

There he could shine once again

And he can sore forever

In hope that if he falls down to earths plain

The holder won't use for their own measure
