Chapter Four : Unanswered Questions
Chase ran to catch up with him. For a moment, neither spoke. Then Chase broke the silence. "Why didn't you talk before or say something about others or anything before?"
Troy shrugged. "The less talking you do, the less someone has to hold against you." That was all he said. I guess that was just a special occasion, saying more than one sentence, Chase thought to himself.
"Well, wait a minute, if the others have food why are you so underfed?" Chase blurted out.
Too late, he realized what he said, as Troy turned his gaze upon Chase. Chase looked away. "Because, food is hard to come by," was all Troy said.
Chase grew bolder. "So why do you give others the food that you so obviously need?"
Troy answered in another of his short sentences, "Because they need it more." He didn't say another word.
Chase still had more questions and he decided now was the time to ask them. "Back there, the boy called you Merlion. Yet you said, in not so many words, that you didn't know your name. How is that possible?"
Troy looked at him. "Merlion isn't my real name." This only raised more questions in Chase' mind. He decided to save them for later, though. Except for one more.
"Where are we going?" he asked. Troy shrugged. He looked around at where they were, and took a turn down an alley. Chase followed closely so he wouldn't get lost.
After turning down a couple more alleys, they came to a seemingly abandoned warehouse.
A/N: Ok so this will in fact be a double update...Because this chapter is utterly boring (in my opinion) and nothing really happens...
And I'm really sorry it took me so long to update...There really aren't any excuses you haven't heard before so...I'm not gonna use one...Mainly just laziness and writer's block...And this story kinda suddenly started going in another direction so please bear with me...The story's creating itself...I just write it...I'm hoping I'll be able to update faster now though, since I kinda sorta mostly have a plot line now (isn't that exciting?)
Right so...Troy will start talking more...Or...Well maybe not...But you will find out some more about Troy soon...And eventually I'll fill in Chase's background...Mind you, both backstories are going to come gradually...And new characters are coming soon...
'Confused Identity' Readers...hang in there...I'm completly revamping it...Because it sounds like a sixth grade wrote it (which is actually true) and the plot's not going how I want it to...So it's being redone...Or being rethough...Or something...
