A little light
Illuminates the pathway through the fog
Guides those who are blind
For can they not walk on their own?

This bright light
Creates wandering shadows
In the gathering dark they wait
Do they not need to feed?

Such a simple light
Dampens the contentment within
Chases away demons of the future
And tightly holds onto those longing to be free

A beautiful light
Betrays the ones that gave it life
Feeds its origin to its fate
In return for something unattainable

Only a radiant light
What damage could such simplicity do?
One can only imagine what it craves:
The love lost from its dreams
