UNRESOLVED DESOLATION
Tired and trapped, I drop the mask
Seeking solitude in fragrant waters
Painfully indenting through flesh
And drawing out bitter crimson
Gleaming silver touches supple ivory.
--------------
My inconsolable heart lays bare
As inner turbulence overflows
And made one with outside wounds
My mute soul, again, given a voice
Through bitter sobs echoing from me.
--------------
While wounds close and tears subside
Sated are pain and anger welling inside
I slip out of crimsoned waters
Seeking peace and deliverance
But receiving emptiness in their stead.
--------------
Before I step out into the pretentious world
I hide behind my happy mask for all to see
While I cover the evidences of my scarred soul
The suffocating truth only for me to know and reopen
While the rest of the nonchalant world moves on.
