Rose Petals

Rose petals glide downward from my skies

They flutter ever so softly to the earth

Where they forever wilt in excellence

Forever wilt in tragedy

Rose petals leave behind no evidence

Of their dramatic demise

They just, one day, disappear

One day, vanish from existance

Taking with them, the beauty

They sparkling radiance that once was

They steal from this world, true passion

They steal from this world, true love

And in the midst of the tragic crime

They force a sort of joy

They manufacture happiness

Which oddly enough feels no different from loneliness
