'Is that a new hat?' Libby asked, and it was a valid question, with a yes or no answer. But she asking it to someone who tried to go against the rules
'Maybe' He answered. A hand shot to another person's face, she tried not to picture someone she knew that said that, annoyance flowing in her mind. She shook her head and looked over the car park so no one could really catch her eye from the group she was in. She didn't look in front of her as she crossed the road. But she heard the screams of her friends, felt someone uselessly grab her jumper that she had tied round her neck and try to pull her back. It made her fall over…
A few hours earlier…
'Maybe he doesn't realise it? He couldn't do it deliberately, right?' Kati told her friend who pulled a face.
'Err, yeah, he could!' the friend replied. The other girl, the one who was walking just as briskly, just as happily with them, but behind them just a bit smiled to reassure the girl in front of her
'Don't worry Bryony. Kati's right.' She said sweetly, her smile seeming to be infectious onto the other people's faces too. As she walked, she waved at other people too. She wouldn't call herself popular, but she was known, at least, by her hair.
She's thinking secretly about her friend, Darren, will he be online tonight? She hopes desperately that she can get to talk to him tonight. That smile on her face seems to always reflect her. Another thing she's known for.
'Hey. Holly, you're still coming into Wroxham n a few hours, yeah?' Libby's finally caught up to her; Holly turns her smile onto the girl
'Of course!' she exclaims and smiles even more. Thinking about how she really is looking forwards to tonight.
In her last lesson before the end of school…
Bryony looked at her books, then at the table, then at the floor, then at her books again. Holly searched her face for a trace of something, anything, to let her know how Bryony felt on those words.
Bryony changed the subject.
'I don't know how to do this bit…' she said quickly and Holly laughed to herself.
At the end of lesson, Bryony went and Holly went down to the front gate along with Libby and Kati, and Simon. Simon, who'd, invited him?
'You are stupid sometimes Holly.' Bryony said and smiled at her. Holly laughed
'That's why you love me!' she said in a nice way.
'yep, that's why…' Bryony said as if she didn't love her. Holly smiled and looked away.
Simon was wearing a floppy, new hat. But Libby was sure it was the one he wore last year as well.
'Is that a new hat?' Libby asked, not knowing the answer, her mind swaying to and from the two answers. And there were only two answers. Yes or No. So he had to say 'Maybe'. Holly's hand covered her mouth, she tried not to picture someone she knew that said that, annoyance flowing in her mind. She shook her head and looked over the car park so no one could really catch her eye from the group she was in. then she looked down at her feet, her eyes not seeing, only reliving a memory of long ago. She didn't look in front of her as she crossed the road. But she heard the screams of her friends, felt someone uselessly grab her jumper that she had tied round her neck to look like a superhero. It made her fall over and the car couldn't stop…
