"Greener Pastures"

If I woke

to another's eyes

I wouldn't see

my greener pastures.

Fame and glory

may have their charms,

but could I look down upon

those who worship me?

Beauty and grace

may be a beautiful fantasy,

but what happens to me

when they fade?

Love and admiration

may soothe my insecurities,

but will all beings

love me true?

If I woke

to another's eyes

my greener pastures

would wilt and die.
