Chapter 1
The Story Begins
A dark- haired, bearded man that couldn't have been an inch less than six feet six inches tall sat in a throne like chair in the middle of what appeared to be an underground lair. He sat looking at a shimmering field of energy that acted as his viewer when ever he called it. All around was the shimmer of gold treasure and golden thread that adorned the Arabian tapestries that were draped all over the walls. Behind him was a huge shelf. On this shelf were scores of ancient Arabian bottles of various sizes. The whole place and even the man himself had an otherworldly feel about them. The man would tear his eyes away from the viewer every so often to look a specific bottle that stood right in the middle of all the others.
He would look at the bottle then back at the viewer then he would slowly shake his head and return his concentration to the viewer. A few more minutes passed and presently a shorter man with curly hair and a goatee walked in and stood next to the chair watching the other man.
"Hagii," said the other man finally, "you're going to have to get her a master eventually. Those are the rules."
"DON'T TELL ME ABOUT THE RULES!!" thundered Hagii(HA-GEE) as the whole room shook Hagii calmed himself down and continued more quietly, "this isn't any ordinary genie that were talking about this is my own daughter, Haru(HAR-Rue)." Hagii's head sank into his hands. Haru placed a hand on his friend's shoulder.
"I know," he said gently, "and you want to find her a master that will be good to her." Hagii regained his composure and slowly raise his eyes back to the viewer his eye fell upon the image of a young man working his way through a bazaar near the North African coast. He was a nice looking young man with brown hair and eyes who appeared to be about 15 years old. The identification badge that he was wearing said the he was part of a group that had come there for an archaeological dig. Suddenly an attractive girl about his own age walked by, the boy turned and watched her as she walked on. When he turned around he promptly walked face first into awning post. There was a dull clunk and the boy stood there holding his nose a split second later he gasped.
"My contact lense!" he dropped down on the ground and began to scratch through the dirt trying to find it.
"Well, Well, Well," sneered an oily voice, "Lose something." The boy was jerked to his feet by three older boys and pinned against the wall. But before they could anything to him a fourth person appeared on the scene.
"Mr. Gunderson!" thundered the dig leader, Dr. Forbes the head archaeologist, "is there a problem here that I should know about?"
"No sir," said Turk.
"Then," said Forbes, "I suggest that you leave Mr. Stanton alone unless you want to end you're football careers prematurely."
As Hagii watched the three boys let the first boy go and slunk off down the street. The man called Forbes said something to the boy that Hagii couldn't hear. The man walked off leaving the boy standing there, and for the first time Hagii could see the boys name on the I.D. badge. Kyle Stanton.
"I think I found one," said Hagii.
Haru looked at the boy and then back at Hagii.
"Are you sure about that?" he asked. Suddenly the sound of a crash caught there attention. They turned to see that the boy had leaned against the edge of a nearby table. A table that was actually a piece of plywood on two saw horses. The whole thing flipped over landing the boy on the ground with the table top and its contents on top of him. Hagii turned and looked at Haru.
"Oh he's perfect."
Kyle knelt in his tent unpacking his backpack. This had been a tiring day not only had he had to a days worth of work at the dig with only one contact lense but he had also had to help clean up the table he had knocked down, and digging beads out of the desert sand isn't easy when you can't see very well. Not that he hated his time at the dig, but he was still glad to be going home in the morning. Well actually plan was to make one last trip to Bazaar in the morning for last minute souvenirs before heading to the airport to catch their 1:00 P.M. flight to Amsterdam.
The next morning Mr. Forbes rousted everyone out of the bed at 5:30 in the morning. They had Breakfast then they broke camp and packed everything up. By then it was 8:45 and they all piled into the land rovers and headed to the Bazaar. When they arrived the shopped keepers already had a large number of shops open. The group split up and headed in all directions having agreed to meet back at the cars in one hour.
Kyle trudged around trying to find something that would make a good souvenir for himself, but he wasn't having much luck. He was just turning a corner when commotion on a dingy side street. A curly hair man came running out of a shop that Kyle hadn't noticed the last time he had passed that way.
"Stop that man!" yelled the shop owner from the doorway, "he's just robbed me!!" Kyle didn't even think he just reacted he grabbed a hold of the strap of his back pack that was draped across his should and swung the back pack with ever ounce of strength he possessed. There was a loud, WHACK! Kyle's back pack connected with the would-be thief and the man went down flat. Instantly there were two police men there taking the man into custody.
"Thank you, young Effendi," said the shop keeper a tall man with grey hair as he gave a slight bow. He motioned for Kyle to come into his shop.
"Come," he said eagerly, "I have good souvenirs for the young Effendi."
"Well," said Kyle, I actually already have gifts for my family I just want a little something for myself."
"Ah well then," said the man, "Allow old Hagii to Present the young Effendi with a token of gratitude for his bravery in stopping that thief." The man reached behind the small counter and pulled out an exquisite antique bottle that appeared to be made of out of pottery and red crystal the stopper it's self appeared to be a large ruby.
"Here," said the man, "A gift for my young friend!"
"Oh no," said Kyle, "I couldn't take that."
"You can and you will," said the man with a twinkle in his eye, as he pressed the bottle into Kyle's hands.
"Well, thank you very much," said Kyle.
"You are most welcome, Effendi," said Hagii as he and Kyle walked toward the door, "May you have safety for the journey ahead of you." Kyle thanked him, then he turned and walked on up the street, slipping the bottle into his backpack as he went.
Suddenly the old man's hair changed from grey to brown and he became more youthful. The curly haired thief stepped up next to Hagii as they watched Kyle walking away.
"Well," said Hagii, "that went very smoothly."
"Humph," said Haru, "that's easy for you to say you're not the one that got smacked in the face."
"Don't worry," said Hagii, "your face was sacrificed for a good cause."
"Yeah, well just the same the next time we do this, you're the one who is going to play the thief."
A tired Kyle Stanton dragged himself into his bedroom. It was good to be home and able to sleep in his own bed again. Pulling the bottle out of his back pack he pulled the stopper, looked at it looked at the bottle then set them both down on the table then pulled off his clothes as headed for the shower. A few minutes later a cleaner Kyle Stanton turned off the water and jerked the shower curtain open to see a beautiful blonde haired girl in a red and white harem outfit standing there holding out a towel.
Kyle gave a very unmanly yelp and fell backwards jerking the shower curtain the curtain rod and the whole works down on top of him. The girl gasped and started toward.
"Master," she said, "Are you hurt, I did not mean to startle you!?" she reached out to touch his head.
Kyle scrambled back away from her until he found himself up against the back corner of the shower using the curtain rod and all for cover.
"Who are you?!" he asked in a voice tinged with shock and embarrassment.
"I'm Jenna," she said with a big smile, "Your genie, what do you wish of me?" Kyle's eye's widened and his mouth dropped open,
"MY GENIE?!"
