Bicycle

Sitting here by the street

Anticipating the sound of spinning bike tires coming for me

It takes a while, a long, long time

But soon I come to realize

No one's coming for me now

I dream and I pray each and every moment

You'll come back someday and I'll be just fine

But now just waking up takes so much time

I'll never be ready to fly

'Til you come for me, pedaling fast as you can

Down the street to my house and you take my hand

Guide me there to my very own bike

We'll pedal and pedal and pedal 'til we take flight

Listening to the breeze

How silent, empty, lost is all just seems

It takes a while, a long, long, time

'Til I know these features really are mine

Cause no one's coming for me now

I cry and I wallow each and every second

Until I'm forced to swallow my tears

Faced now with the toll of these years

And dreading the future for I start to fear

You'll never teach me how to fly

'Til you come for me, pedaling fast as you can

Down the street to my house and you take my hand

Guide me there to my very own bike

We'll pedal and pedal and pedal 'til we take flight

Nothing seems to be okay

I wake up each morning and change my face

For each day is a new day, sure

Filled with empty hope and lost dreams

I'll be all right when

I hear your bicycle wheels spinning

Like the unforgiving laws of fate

Always changing on me

'Til you come for me, pedaling fast as you can

Down the street to my house and you take my hand

Guide me there to my very own bike

We'll pedal and pedal and pedal 'til we take flight

Will you come for me, pedaling fast as you can

Down the street to my house and you take my hand

Guide me there to my very own bike

We'll pedal and pedal and pedal 'til we take flight

We'll pedal and pedal and pedal and pedal and pedal and pedal on by

'Til we take flight

'Til we take flight
