My Fallen Angel

My fallen angel
Was a free spirit
Now she sits
Crying and broken
Upon a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Weeps before the broken mirror
Shattered, scattered
It's fallen to pieces
Upon a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Clutches her hair
A mess and dirty
And strands have fallen
Upon a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Clutches her shoulders
Her hands are shaking
Her feelings numb
They are broken on a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Had a white dress
Now it is stained
And bits of it
Are lying tattered on a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Had blue eyes
Now they are red
From the tears
That have fallen on a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Once danced in the sunlight
Now the only light
Comes from a burning candle
Whose wax dries on a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Once loved the taste of honey
Now she only tastes the grief
And stale air
Hovering above the dusty floor

My fallen angel
Once gave kisses freely
Now her lips are unused
And when she is sleeping
They kiss the dusty floor

My fallen angel
Once sang in the moonlight
Now her voice is silent
All her notes fall, broken
On a dusty floor

My fallen angel
Once flew in the blue sky
Now her wings are torn
And feathers are fallen
On a dusty floor

Authoress' Note: This is one of my best, if I may say so myself. I remember wanting to write something really late one night, and low and behold!, another quasi-religious work from the mind of me.
