There's something with the way
The rain falls
That brings emotion to my throat
To carefully trickle through my body

The way the sky crys
And the wind blows through my hair
While I'm curled up on the back porch
Wrapped in my thoughts
The gentle storm releases everything
Somehow my head relaxes
And I let my worries
Fall with the rain

My pain runs down the driveway
Taps on the gutters
Gets stuck in trees
Some drops fall on my skin
On my paper
On my world

It brings me a sense of comfort
To see everything shaking and dripping
The rain is pure
Clear, easy to see

And when it rains I understand
That every trouble
Every tear
Falls on your open hand
And then dries once you realize
That pain passes
When you let the sky open up
And rain
